Had traditional fish and was amazed how it taste. Enviroment was simple, but the food was delicious. I’m not the fun of the fish but this one was special and will repeat again. Poncha was home made. Restorant looks run by family so you feel warm welcomed.

I came here according to the review but the food was very disappointing. The tomato soup was way too salty. While for the main dish, I ordered medium rare beef espetada but the meet was obviously rare. Plus, when I was entering the restaurant I’ve asked if they accepted card or not and the staff said yes but when I was paying, the staff was trying to ask me to pay in cash. So, if you are looking for some local dishes, I’d recommend other places but this one.

This was our second visit, and it was it just as good as last year. It can get very busy at lunch, but it was worth the short wait. The grilled fish of the day is only 13.50 Euro and is so fresh! Get the garlic bread too. My wife had the Portuguese Octopus. It came with big dishes of potatoes, peas, and rice, more than we could finish. I really think this the place for lunch in Funchal. You just can't beat it.

Petit restaurant très sympa ! Petite salle au sous-sol où on vous sert des plats généreux et délicieux avec le sourire dans une ambiance chaleureuse. Cela serait dommage de rater cette adresse… ????

Und wurde dieses Restaurant von unserem Tour Guide in Funchal empfohlen. Der Fisch kam mit drei Beilagen (Reis, Kartoffeln, Erbsen) und hatte noch mit Gemüse auf dem Teller. Das Steak war sehr groß und kam mit wahlweise Pommes. Sehr gutes Preis-Leistung Verhältnis, Getränke günstig. Essen sehr lecker. Nur zu empfehlen

Zwar viele Touristen als Gäste, aber die Gerichte alle sehr authentisch, geschmacklich sehr gut, alles perfekt organisiert. Kann man empfehlen. Reservierung unbedingt erforderlich.

The best tomato soup we've got on Madeira.
There is loud inside but because it always full of customers. You probably will have to stay in line and wait for free table but food is worth it

I found this restaurant through recommendations on a Facebook group. You would not know it’s there from the outside but everything was really good. We didn’t make a reservation for lunch but when we arrived they were full. It took them a couple of minutes to organize a table for us, so just wait if you need to, it’s definitely worth your while. I had the prawns peri peri and they were the best I have ever eaten, albeit really hot, very tasty. The mains come with loads of sides, so I wouldn’t order too much either.

Le cadre ne paye pas de mine au départ, c'est un sous-sol aménagé, mais l'ambiance y est fort agréable et la décoration typique de l'île.
L'accueil est chaleureux , et avec un peu de Français ce qui ne gâche rien. Le plat de poissons pour 2 était copieux (ça c'est habituel) mais surtout excellent, avec son sabre noir, sa daurade et son poisson perroquet (une première pour nous). Pas étonnant que beaucoup de touristes et de locaux s'y pressent. Je recommande.

Très bon restaurant, caché dans un sous-sol on l'a découvert un peu au hasard. Service rapide et attentif, nourriture de qualité de Madère et du Portugal. Il vaut mieux réserver.

Une petite devanture, une petite salle qui s'ouvre ou sous-sol de cet immeuble en face du marché des Laboureurs: ce n'est pas le resto qui retient une attention particulière. Mais une fois l'accueil passé, vous êtes chouchouter par les patrons. Les plats sont excellents et très bien présentés, le vin excellent tout comme la poncha. Bref, vous ne serez pas déçus du voyage tant on y mange bien, pas cher et en grande quantité.
