Petit Futé's opinion on LESPINASSE CASTLE

This fortress was built in the 12th century on the site of a Gallo-Roman villa called Spina (which means "the loaves"), from which the name of the building is derived. The fortress has been restored several times, notably in the 14th and 15th centuries, and continues to be developed by the current owners, the Berchebru de Foucaud and Aur family. One cannot but admire the power emanating from its keep crowned with machicolations and the beauty of its towers, watchtowers and turrets with peppered roofs.
