Saint-Beauzire is a small rural commune of less than 500 inhabitants, located at equal distance from the Auvergne Volcanoes Natural Park and the Livradois-Forez Natural Park. The nearest town is Brioude, located 11 km to the east. Two notable buildings are located in the territory of Saint-Beauzire: the castle of Lespinasse (12th-15th century), established on the coastline separating the valleys of the Alagnon and the Allier, and the castle of Bosbomparent (13th-14th century). These two castles are superb fortified sites and are classified as historical monuments. They are still occupied but can only be visited during part of the year.
