This 3-star Hilton hotel complex on the Berkeley marina offers magnificent views of San Francisco Bay. It has a business-like atmosphere, but also offers leisure services tailored to vacationers: indoor pool, whirlpool, gym and waterfront restaurants at the Berkeley Boathouse. It's a little far from downtown Berkeley, but ideally located for catching the ferry to San Francisco. Above all, it's one of the city's least expensive, with great amenities. Free parking, but wifi at a charge.

Our stay was fine. Unfortunately the prices for food and drinks are twice the price they should be. For example a cappuccino (that was just ok) cost $9 without tip or a cocktail for $19. Im not sure how they can charge exceptional prices if they aren’t providing exceptional service or quality.
