Ok for a little wait? Ramen Yamadaya is where you'll eat the best in San Francisco. And at low prices!
This restaurant is very popular with locals, because here they don't skimp on quality while offering reasonable prices. Indeed, if you don't mind waiting, Ramen Yamadaya is the place to go for the best ramen in San Francisco. This noodle soup, much loved by the Japanese, is traditionally prepared with the freshest ingredients and a well-crafted broth. Ideal when the fog takes hold of San Francisco and you're looking for a big steaming bowl to enjoy. Simple but warm decor.

When we arrived we were told to sign up on the waitlist… there was no one on it so we should’ve just gotten seated quickly.. When we sat down, we had to wait a while for someone to take our order. It was pretty busy so I understand that it would take some time. The customer service was ok, nothing special. They should prioritize customer service bc it wasn’t the best. The food arrived in a timely manner and the ramen was pretty good but I wish there was more noodles in it, it was less than other ramen places..

Central location in Japan town with such a promising menu! Tanuki, galbi jim ramen all sound so good, but it isn’t quite there with execution. The soft boiled eggs were cold and had egg shell fragments, the rib meat was also cooked and chewy, the fat hadn’t been rendered out yet. Such a friendly and energetic team, great music and chill decour, hoping to stop by next time and the team is a bit more ready to execute.

Our dining experience was underwhelming. We ordered three servings of ramen, and all came with cold eggs that had a distinct chemical taste, particularly the yolks. The pork in the ramen was overly salty and seemed less than fresh, which was quite disappointing. Additionally, the service was average at best, but what made us uncomfortable was the almost enforced tipping policy. The server presented the POS machine with a minimum tip option of 20%, which felt quite pushy and inappropriate given the overall experience.

Don't know what happened after pandemic but I remember there was always a 1 hour wait line. It was Friday night and the restaurant was practically empty. We ordered today fried chicken (Osaka style) that was ok, and a Spicy ramen (the spice aside so we could add as much as we like). They served the wrong ramen (we notice after we finished) and the broth was very spicy (I asked the waitress and she said it wasn't spicy), chashu was not good. Totally ruined the experience, it's a shame. We loved this place.
