Relais near the cathedral ideal for volunteer hospitaliers
The Relais du Pèlerin de Saint-Jacques in the old town, close to the cathedral, is staffed by volunteer hospitaliers. This is perhaps the first "donativo" you'll come across on your pilgrimage to Santiago de Compostela, and one of the last, as these traditional places where pilgrims can be accommodated on a "free contribution" basis are becoming increasingly rare. 27 beds in 2 dormitories, often overcrowded during the departure season.

die Herberge verfügt über eine Küche, die sanitären Anlagen sind sauber und gepflegt, der Schlafraum verfügt über Einzelboxen. ich habe mich im Dunstkreis der Kathedrale aufgehalten, im nächsten Supermarkt meine Notwendige Verpflegung eingekauft.
