A memorial space with numerous testimonials. The Jardin de la Mémoire features a sculpture by artist Paul-Armand Gette

During the Second World War, the region was a land of welcome and shelter for those fleeing persecution. The tour is organized around the different forms of resistance: civil, spiritual and armed. Testimonials from those involved in the rescue operation, refugees and members of the Resistance can be viewed. To the north of the buildings, a garden of memory has been created in an enclosed space that is an integral part of the site. Designed by internationally-renowned gardener and landscape architect Louis Benech, it offers a serene space for meditation.

Lieu de memoire, expositions très instructives et émouvantes. Reconfortant aussi. En ce moment se tient une exposition temporaire consacrée à Simone VEIL, sa vie, son parcours politique, son rôle pour faire connaître le rôle du plateau dans le sauvetage des juifs et promouvoir ce lieu. Je conseille les visites guidées, sans supplément de prix, par deux historiennes imprégnées par leur sujet. Merci.
