Cefala Diana is a village of barely 1,000 inhabitants that is of particular archaeological interest. It is one of the few sites in Sicily where examples of the original medieval Islamic architecture can be seen, which has been perfectly preserved here. This is particularly true of the Castle of Diana, which dominates the village and the nature reserve of the Ficuzza wood to the south (towards Corleone), as does its neighbour in the village of Marineo. The Arabian baths located near the Chiarastella natural park, very close to the village, are another exceptionally well-preserved complex from this period to be discovered.
