Cayo Coco (whose name comes from a small local stork) remains one of the great tourist destinations of the country! The area is home to 158 species of mammals and birds - nearly 30,000 pink flamingos have been counted, one of the largest colonies in the world - but also some 20 kilometers of beaches. The most notable? Los Flamencos, but also Las Conchas (between Punta Caimanera and the diving club of Punta Rasa), one of the smallest and most charming of the cayo, but also Playa Prohibida ("Forbidden Beach"!). The latter is located at the end of the cayo, west of Punta del Cuerno and is next to the Cueva del Jabalí (Boar's Cave), a natural refuge offering musical shows in the evening (4 €) but also drinks (closed Sun-Mon).
