Located 10 km east of the city in the direction of Ciego de Ávila, Cuba's largest artificial lake (1,020 millionm3) is ideal for freshwater fishing and hunting. The lake is full of trout of all sizes and costs between 30 and 50 € for a half-day or a full day of fishing (reservation at the Hotel Zaza). We recommend you to go to Alturas de Banao (open daily from 9am to 5pm, 4 €): this ecotourism site offers much more tranquility than the Caburni trail (Escambray Valley, near Trinidad). The beautiful waterfall, at the top, invites you to swim! Possibility to camp in the park.
