Fishing village at the entrance of the bay, Perche would have been founded in the 19th century by French fishermen but also from the Canary Islands. Moreover, the origin of the name of this small village is subject to debate: does it come from "pêche"? Or perhaps from "perched", in the sense of "on the heights", reference to the fortification standing overhanging the channel? Anyway, from a small camp of huts and other houses made of guano and bad wood, Perche has become a very small seaside village full of charm. Note the houses with tiled roofs, built on stilts. Tranquility and authenticity guaranteed.
