Nestled at the bottom of the Bay of Pigs (bahía de Cochinos), this beach was one of the areas targeted by the landing of anti-Castro elements, who attempted, with the support of the United States, to invade the island in April 1961. They did not succeed. Less than 15 km south of La Boca and 33 km northwest of Playa Girón, Playa Larga now welcomes Cubans and tourists who enjoy its white sand, the Caribbean Sea and the beauty of its transparent waters. The aficionados of diving will take advantage of it to discover the marine funds, among the most beautiful of the country. Playa Larga has much more to offer than its sister Playa Girón.
