The New York Hanging Gardens offer a pleasant walk with a unique view of the Hudson River and the buildings of Midtown.

New York also has its hanging gardens! Like the Coulée verte in Paris, the High Line is a former railroad line that was decommissioned in the 1980s and rehabilitated as a park. It used to serve the warehouses and factories of the Meatpacking District. It once linked the warehouses of the Meatpacking District, and today stretches from Gansevoort Street to 34th Street, between 10th and 11th Avenues. Completely rehabilitated, the nearly 2.3 km stretch offers a bucolic stroll 10 meters above ground, punctuated by contemporary works of art, designer benches and spectacular views of the Hudson and Midtown towers. Don't hesitate to come at sunset with a small picnic to relax after a long day of sightseeing and walking. It's the ideal spot for a romantic stroll or even a marriage proposal... The surrounding area has been profoundly transformed by the rise of Hudson Yards, the development of architectural projects by Zaha Hadid and Heatherwick Studio, and the opening of galleries, restaurants and chic boutiques along the way. A few deckchairs facing the Hudson River, flower-filled corners, an original amphitheatre and the recent The Spur extension, which regularly hosts monumental works of art, make this stroll one of the city's must-sees. And you might even catch a glimpse of New Yorkers at home, as the High Line passes very close to the third and fourth floors of some of the buildings.

Very nice walks in a rather floral setting. The old metro line has been very well equipped. Give a different view of New York. Perfect for a picnic spade in summer
