LIBERTY PARK
Green space with a sphere sculpture, a 9/11 museum and St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church
This 4,000 square metre elevated green space overlooks the 9/11 memorial and museum. Opened in June 2016, it houses La Sphère, a sculpture that stood between the twin towers at the time of the September 11 attacks. Like a symbol, the edifice remained standing but was almost cut in two by aircraft debris. The park is home to another bronze statue, America's Response Monument. It pays tribute to American Special Operations and the actions taken in the wake of the 2001 terrorist attacks.
