Home on the banks of the East River with a beautiful walkway and a breathtaking view of Queens and Roosvelt Island
On the banks of the East River, this mansion was built in 1799 as the second home of the Scottish shipping king Archibald Gracie. Typical of the Federal style in vogue at the time, it was transferred to the City of New York in 1896 and, since 1942, has been the official residence of New York's mayors. On your way out, and before heading for the adjacent Museum Mile, take a stroll in Carl Schurz Park, which offers a lovely walk along the East River and a breathtaking view of Queens and Roosevelt Island.
