Chouette idée que cette staue à Balto, chien célèbre pour avoir participer à la fameuse course au sérum contre la diphtérie. En 1925, le sérum a dû être transporté par train puis traineau à travers l'Alaska pour combattre une épidémie de diphtérie. Sa dépouille naturalisée se trouve au musée d'histoire naturelle de Cleveland.
