A very select speakeasy, accessible at the back of a hot-dog restaurant, Crif Dogs. To get there, you have to go into the restaurant's phone booth, then pick up the receiver. At the other end of the line, a voice asks for the time of your reservation. If you don't have a reservation, you can try to get a table in line before the restaurant opens. The interior, with its brick walls and stuffed animals, maintains the mysterious atmosphere. There's a great cocktail list and you can order the hot dogs made at Crif Dogs.
