Quarries considered as the Petra of Andalusia, in remote reference to the city of Jordan in Osuna
Located on the heights of Osuna, they are considered the Petra of Andalusia, in distant reference to the city of Jordan and are based on the land of the ancient Urso, from which the stone necessary for construction was already extradited before Roman occupation. If they have been used continuously from the Turdetans, a people close to the Iberians, their exploitation has intensified mainly during the major construction work undertaken by the fourth Earl of Ureña in the sixteenth century to definitively cease in the sixties. Today, we can see a collection of instruments and tools used for the extraction and transport of stones and 4,000 m ² of gardens.
