Things to see and do Carmona

Numerous tombs and mausoleums from the 1st to the 4th centuries were unearthed at the end of the 19th century in this Necrópolis romana, one of the most important sites in Spain in terms of the number of paintings preserved. Of particular interest is the tumba de Servilia, the tomb of a large Hispano-Roman family, the largest of the structures and dating from the Augustan period, and the tumba del Elefante, decorated with a small statue of the tusked animal, dedicated to the cult of the deities of Cibeles and Attis. Also a very complete museum.

Casa Palacio Marqués de las Torres houses the center of interpretation and the museum of the city which present a collection of archeological and ethnographic elements reflecting the history and rich past of the city and its periods of maximum importance. And there will be an opportunity to discover a typical example of Carmona Palace in the eighteenth century. First of all, the imposing façade, characteristic of the baroque Seville Baroque and the decoration of the side façade, example of late Baroque. On two floors, the rooms of the house revolve around a square courtyard square.

Founded by a papal bull in 1460, it was one of the very first convents in the city. With elements built from the 15th to the 18th century, the complex has a wide range of architectural styles. Of particular note are the cloisters, with their delightful atmosphere, and the church, emblematic of Andalusian Mudejar art, the latter exhibiting several paintings by Valdés Leal and a collection of women's portraits. You can also enjoy the beautiful view from the mirador tower overlooking the church tower and the sweets made by the sisters.
