PRIORAL DE SANTA MARIA AND MUSEUM OF SACRED ART
The most important Gothic style church in the city, now called the Orange Tree Courtyard in Carmona
It was the most important church in the city whose construction began in 1424 and ended in 1551. In essence Gothic style, it nevertheless bears signs of baroque like Puerta del Sol and sacramental chapel dating back to the late seventeenth century. Built on the site of the city's largest mosque, it only retains the moorish era of a beautiful patio, from Las Abluvationes, named the patio of orange trees today. On one of its columns, we will observe a Wisigoth calendar of the century. Inside the church, you will notice the very beautiful main table, a major work of the Andalusian plateau. The church also houses a museum of sacred art which includes a medieval sculpture of the Virgen de Gracia, the patron of the city.
