Situated in the heart of Seville, just a stone's throw from the cathedral, this Casa de Salinas is one of those wonderful Sevillian palace-houses that bear witness to the splendor of Seville's Golden Age. Founded by Baltasar Jaén in the 16th century, it became the property of the Salinas family in the early 20th century. The family painstakingly restored it to its original appearance. Of particular note is the central patio, surrounded by columns. It is part of the Opera nights program in Seville.

Owner's Message
In the 16th century, Seville was the most important city in Europe. The riches of the New World arrived at its port, then were distributed throughout the continent. Gold and silver from America were minted here. It was called Nova Roma for its splendor, attracting the best Italian and Flemish artists of the time. The best of the Renaissance blended with Gothic and Mudéjar in a harmony of styles unique in the world.
It was against this backdrop that the Casa de Salinas was built.
Situated in the monumental zone of Seville's old town, a stone's throw from the cathedral, the Giralda and the royal Alcazars, this house shared with other residences a neighborhood populated by illustrious and wealthy people. Baltasar Jaén, the house's first owner and founder of a majorat, belonged to one of these lineages.
In the early 20th century, the house came into the ownership of the Salinas family, who subjected it to a delicate and painstaking restoration process to restore its original appearance, partially altered by interventions over its four hundred-year history, especially around 1900. Today, it exhibits its primitive 16th-century structures, with elements characteristic of the period in which it was built, harmoniously integrated aesthetically, as evidenced by its warm, comfortable interiors.
