CASA MORENO

Restaurant or takeaway

Not far from the Plaza Nueva you first enter a grocery store, and at the back of the shop with golden letters, there is a small bar where you can nibble on tapas. And it is one of the most famous places for montaditos, those little sandwiches with various fillings. On the walls, photos and bulls' heads testify to the house's strong taste for bullfighting and Holy Week. This kind of place, a classic of Sevillian life, is becoming increasingly rare, so don't miss it.

CASA PACO

Tapas bar

This small bar will delight tapas lovers... and beer lovers since it is very cheap. To be appreciated especially on the terrace and in the evening. With a rather varied choice: salmorejo, tomato soup with pieces of ham, leeks au gratin, mushrooms a la plancha, camembert al horno, baked camembert toast or serrano toast. Also vegetarian and gluten-free dishes. Good value for money. A downside that can sometimes discourage: it has become very touristy. Sometimes you have to wait a few minutes before being placed.

Along with El Rinconcillo, its neighbor, this bodega was founded in 1841 and is one of the oldest in the city. Its last renovation in 2004 maintained its most essential elements, such as a beautiful checkerboard floor and its mahogany bar, which has helped make it one of the must-see places on the tapas route. Its owner, Santiago Remesal, offers his legion of regulars local specialties in tapas or full portions: Iberian ham, cod(bacalao), small sandwiches(montaditos), omelets(revueltos)... Possibility of sitting on the terrace.
