Located some twenty kilometers from Kuching, this is one of the few places in the world where you can observe orangutans roaming free in their natural habitat. Their total population is estimated at between 45,000 and 69,000 individuals, including 35,000 in Borneo. The center counts 25 individuals and is helping to preserve this species, threatened by the destruction of its natural habitat. These great apes are often seen at feeding time, but are rare during the fruiting season, when the forest naturally provides their sustenance. The number of visitors is high, but the visit is calm.
