Opened to tourism in July 2000 and renovated in 2007, Mafuri, with its elongated shape (1,000 metres x 200 metres), is a lonely jewel on Meemu Atoll. It faces the local island of Naalaafushi, which never sees a tourist, as it has no guest houses. If you are interested in discovering an authentic Maldivian island, do not hesitate, you will be well received. A splendid sand spit extends the island at one end. The beautiful lagoon is perfect for water sports but not for snorkeling. The resort provides a daily trip to the surrounding reefs to compensate for this inconvenience.
