Rectangular space of 34 meters long and 10 meters wide, framed by two massive wall blocks preceded by embankments.

Unlike the traditional pelota playing fields that can be visited in other archaeological sites, Uxmal is not surrounded by temples, which usually give them their high importance in the life of the city. Here, two massive blocks of wall, preceded by sloping embankments, frame this rectangular space, 34 metres long and 10 metres wide. To be seen are the huge rings of carved stone bearing hieroglyphic inscriptions, in which the players of the two opposing teams had to place the ball.
