Altitude: 3,250 m. Population: about 500. The village of Charazani, founded in 1826 by President Sucre, is located on the Mapiri River, between the Muñecas mountain range to the south and the Apolobamba mountain range to the north. The economy of the region is based on agriculture and livestock, and the vast majority of the inhabitants live below the poverty line. It attracts a lot of Bolivian tourists because of its thermal waters, located 4 km from the village. Every August 6, a famous bullfight is held there. The culture of Charazani is marked by the traditional medicine of the Kallawayas. Guides and mules are available in the village for trekking.
