FESTIVAL DE MERENGUE

If you travel to Puerto Plata at the end of September/beginning of October, you can enjoy the fun merengue festival. The promenade becomes the ideal place to enjoy hot food and beer in the stands set up for the occasion. All this is accompanied by parades, dance demonstrations - sometimes very caliente -, shows and fairs. There will also be the opportunity to learn more about the merengue, with exhibitions on its history. There will also be an exhibition of works by local artists.
