AEROPUERTO LAS AMÉRICAS

Airport and passenger services
5/5
1 review

The capital's main airport, very similar to the major international airports, is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. To get downtown: cab, bus (irregular and inconvenient, as they stop at the end of Avenida Las Américas and don't go as far as the colonial zone), or VTC if you have Internet access. There is no departure tax if your stay is less than 31 days. If you stay from 1 to 3 months, you'll have to pay an additional $3,500, $5,600 from 3 to 9 months, and $7,000 from 9 months to 1 year.

APOLO TAXI

Taxi and VTC

It is one of the most known companies of the capital. From the international airport, it offers trips to Punta Cana (US$ 200), La Romana (US$ 135), Samana (US$ 190) and the colonial area of Santo Domingo (US$ 50). In spite of the reputation of the company, it is advised to always ask the price of the race before getting on board, in order to avoid bad surprises. But a priori, no problem with Apolo Taxi. A proven Dominican agency and very useful in many circumstances. Reservation on line or by phone.
