The capital's main airport, very similar to the major international airports, is located on the shores of the Caribbean Sea. To get downtown: cab, bus (irregular and inconvenient, as they stop at the end of Las Américas Avenue and don't go as far as the colonial zone), or VTC if you have Internet access. There is no departure tax if your stay is less than 31 days. If you stay from 1 to 3 months, you'll have to pay an additional $3,500, $5,600 from 3 to 9 months, and $7,000 from 9 months to 1 year.

Expect to pay US$40 for a cab to the Colonial Zone (30 minutes if traffic is good) or the Gazcue district. You can order an Uber for around US$30, connecting to the airport's free wifi. There are also buses, but they are irregular and inconvenient as they stop at the end of Las Americas Avenue, before the Ozama River, and therefore don't go as far as the colonial zone. If you're coming from Santo Domingo, you'll have to pay the 30 pesos toll in cash.

Petit aéroport mais avec wifi gratuit et performant, idéal pour patienter en attendant de passer la douane. On doit payer une taxe d entrée de 10$ , attention possibilité de payer en euro mais 1€=1$ .
