Abbaye de Hautecombe classified as a historical monument, is a must-see and organizes events and temporary exhibitions.

Clinging to the wild shore of Lac du Bourget, Hautecombe Abbey blends majesty and serenity. Founded in the XIIᵉ century by the Cistercians, it became the necropolis of the princes of Savoy and the last kings and queens of Italy. Its Gothic troubadour-style church surprises with its colorful frescoes, recumbent figures and stained glass windows, contrasting with the original Cistercian sobriety. The view of the lake from the forecourt and nearby pier is breathtaking. Led by the Chemin Neuf community, the abbey remains a lively place of prayer and welcome.
