Aqueduct which supplied Lugdunum, and collected the waters of the Pilat massif from Yzieux in the Loire.
Built under Emperor Claudius around the year 40, it is the longest - 85 km - of the 4 aqueducts that supplied Lyon. It collected water from the Pilat massif from Yzieux in the Loire, crossed the Mornant plateau to reach Lyon at Saint-Irénée. Beautiful vestiges on several sites in Mornant, in particular on the RD63 from Mornant to Saint-Sorlin with 3 arches, a section of the underground canal near the boulevard du Général de Gaulle and a manhole for visits to maintain the pipe.
