Located in the Châteaucreux district, Saint-Étienne Métropole is a public institution for inter-communal cooperation covering 53 communes in the Loire department. With almost 407,700 inhabitants, it is one of the department's major urban centers. The community's responsibilities include economic development, spatial planning and social housing.
