Taken over in 2011 by Martial, Le Square is a neo-bistro. The establishment plays on quality and has been redecorated by the Powned graphic designers collective. It is part of the recent trend to make Saint-Etienne the design capital of France. With humour and elegance, Le Square plays on codes while offering a "fresh and inventive cuisine and blah blah blah blah", in the very words of the menu! The service is fast and efficient, and the chef makes a wide range of club sandwiches, burgers and other croque-monsieur to suit everyone's taste. On Saturdays, the menu plays with the seasons: simmered dishes "like at grandma's" in winter and barbecue-style grilled meats for the sunny days!
