The castle has been home to the Museum of the French Revolution since 1983, with a unique collection of works of art and objects.

Let's take a walk through history. A historical, cultural and natural heritage that needs to be discovered and passed on - access to the park and museum is entirely free - but also because it embodies values that are essential to our society. Just outside Grenoble, at the foot of the Oisans massif, the Domaine départemental de Vizille is an exceptional site. At first glance, it's a wonderful place to relax, with its park and gardens awarded the "Jardin remarquable" label, where families and lovers alike enjoy strolling along the paths in an exceptional natural setting. French parterres, architectural gardens and a romantic park to discover the flora and fauna, with an animal reserve home to many deer. Former home of the Dukes of Lesdiguières in the 17th century, presidential residence from 1925 to 1960, the Domaine de Vizille - owned by the Département de l'Isère - wrote a page in French history when, on July 21, 1788, it hosted the Assembly of the Three Orders of the Dauphiné, the precursor to the revolutionary events of 1789. Since 1983, the château has been home to the Museum of the French Revolution, with a unique collection of artworks and objects evoking the period. Created at the same time as the museum, an Albert Soboul resource center houses the most important documentation devoted to the French Revolution. A land of nature, a land of culture and a land of history, the Domaine de Vizille is a true invitation to travel!

Musée de la révolution française doté d'une très grande richesse, gratuit de surcroît, et un parc ombragé pour une ballade nature d'une heure (si vous faites le grand tour). Site à visiter absolument.

Not to be missed! A castle- museum dedicated to the French revolution, our roots with an important collection of objects ranging from dishes in the colours of the revolutionaries or homeland, the setting of the declaration of Human rights or stone from the cells of the Bastille.
Beautiful library, access to the terrace allowing you to discover the garden (which also must discover) close eye. Explanations on the various uses of the castle during centuries, the models… There is something for everyone.
Such a success with a completely free access, you have trouble believing in it.
