Ferme du Chapiron is a pork producer located in Parmilieu, in the Rhône-Alpes region, about 45 km east of Lyon. Since 2007, they have been raising black pigs from Gascon pigs in the open air, as well as Duroc pigs raised in the same way. All pigs are born and raised on the farm, before being processed in an approved laboratory. The farm sells fresh meat, charcuterie, dry sausages and other specialties direct all year round. Tours of the farm are available by appointment to observe the pigs in their natural habitat. Ferme du Chapiron receives no aid or subsidies and believes in simple values such as hard work, sincerity, common sense and courage. For professionals, the farm also offers terrines, rillettes and dry products such as ham and coppa.
