Located in the Villages du Lac de Paladru, this archaeological museum invites you on a fascinating journey through time, exploring the exceptional remains discovered beneath the waters of the lake. The MALP plunges you into two major periods of history, namely the Neolithic and the An Mil, during which the daily lives of the communities that inhabited these shores centuries ago are revealed. Through its remarkable collections, the museum highlights objects and architectural remains that have been remarkably preserved underwater, and offers a faithful reconstruction of ancient ways of life. During your visit, you'll discover tools, ceramics and building remains that bear witness to the skills and traditions of peoples of the past. Among the must-sees are a flint dagger, a deer antler hammer-axe, a blue glass intaglio set in a bezel, and a dugout canoe carved from an oak trunk, revealed at the Colletière site. The MALP also offers permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as themed events to explore the many facets of medieval archaeology and history. Highlights include medieval weaving workshops and Kapla castle models, offering a fun, interactive approach for all ages. The Musée Archéologique du Lac de Paladru is easily accessible from Grenoble, Chambéry and Lyon, making your visit even more enjoyable. What's more, we organize self-guided, guided and school tours to suit all types of public. For an even more enriching experience, you'll have downloadable audio guides and educational booklets at your disposal. Le musée est passionnant, mais c’est surtout grâce à l’accueil bienveillant et humain que nous avons passé un si bon moment. Un grand merci à Anne-Michelle & Marion-Agnès !
