Museum that offers guided tours to better understand mining in La Motte-d'Aveillans.
An unusual visit that takes us underground, along 250 metres of gallery of a "horizontal" mine where the "charbon de la Motte", one of the best in the world, was mined. This museum offers guided tours to better understand mining, its techniques, materials from different periods and the working conditions of the miners. The Treasure Room houses superb minerals and a permanent exhibition. There is also a film and a temporary exhibition at the end of the visit to the museum installed in the showers of the mine.

Superbe musée-site géré par une association d'anciens mineurs. Nombreux objets et documents authentiques. Guide très compétents et accueillants. A ne pas manquer!
