Created in 2001 and managed by the La Vanaude association, this museum reveals the transition from a traditional craft, charronnage, to an industrial technique, coachbuilding. Enlarged in 2007, the museum has 2 exhibition areas housing a collection of some twenty horse-drawn vehicles, coaches and buses. Wheelwrighting and bodywork workshops, exhibition rooms and videos all bear witness to the career of Joseph Besset, apprentice wheelwright who became a major coach builder and creator of the first "modern" coach in Europe: the Isobloc...

Espace Joseph Besset is a coach-building museum in Vanosc. It tells the story of Joseph Besset, an apprentice wheelwright who became a major coach builder with his famous Isobloc. All year round, the museum offers special events such as combined visits to Iveco IvecoBus or the Château de la Rivoire de Vanosc, evening visits, educational tours, etc. On its website, you'll find all the details of these visits, and you can make your reservation there. You can also take a virtual tour, as if you were there. Its collection includes the Isobloc coach, the Besset-Berliet coach, the Citroën coach, the Sofravel, the Rolland Pilain, the Tubincendie... A great place to visit!

De très beaux bus et cars.
N'hésitez pas à venir les voirs
Nous n'avons pas vu le temps passer pendant notre visite guidée d'environ 1h30 (merci encore à notre excellent guide ????).
On retiendra la très belle collection d'autocars et le récit de la vie de Joseph Besset, du charron devenu ensuite un grand industriel à l'époque.
