Castle of the XIIth century with panoramic view, which supervised the valley of the Rhone, its keep resting on a piton of lava.
Donjon on a lava peak, at the top of the medieval village, this 12th century fortress built by Adhémar de Monteil watches over the Rhône valley. Dominating, the castle retains its superb appearance. This black rocky spur - Maure means "black" in Low Latin - gave its name to the village. In summer, you can visit the feudal castle and its keep. From up there, you will not only be dazzled by the panorama, but also by the legends that inhabit the place. This is a visit not to be missed, and on certain summer evenings there is a spectacular sound and light show.

ROCHEMAURE est un joli village médiéval, tout en noir et blanc dominé par les murailles se son imposant château. Le système hydraulique , le pont suspendu, le spectacle de sons et lumières en été, l'énigme du château et le point de vue extraordinaire qu'offre celui ci sur la vallée du Rhône méritent le détour. A voir.
the castle rochemaure, not to be missed if you are planning. a breathtaking view over the whole region and summer show sound and light with the very nice castle. very beautiful photos has to enjoy.
