THE SARACEN TOWERS

Towers built by the Romans to protect the village from Saracen invasions from the south-eastern hills.
These three great towers, the tallest measuring 18 m, and the wall were built by the Romans! They protected the village from Saracen invasions from the south-eastern hills. Today's gates are the result of restoration work carried out in the early 20th century. This imposing structure was used as a stone quarry to build, among other things, the local school and perhaps some of the village's houses. From the esplanade of the ramparts, enjoy an extraordinary panorama of the Vaucluse mountains and Mont Ventoux.
