Did you know that the Tour Clémentine is the only vestige of Monteux castle?
Built in the 11th century, it was destroyed by fire in 1414. Only the tower remains. It was listed as a historical monument on January 8, 1910. The name "Tour Clémentine" was given in honor of Pope Clement V, who was one of its owners and a frequent visitor. 28 m high and 8 m wide, its walls are up to 2 m thick. Consolidation work is currently underway to preserve this cherished monument.
