At the end of the 19th century, underwater explorations followed one another to try to discover its secret. In 1967, Captain Cousteau sent a remotely operated device that dived to 106 meters. In 1989, the Spélénaute reached a depth of 315 m. In the subsoil, galleries and cavities collect a large part of the 900 mm of rain that falls on average each year.
