A source explored by Modexa, using an instrument carrier that comes to rest at a depth of 308 m, on a sandy bottom.
Where does this source come from, one of the most important in Europe with an average total flow of 630 millionm3 per year? At the end of the 19th century, underwater explorations followed one another to try to discover its secret. In 1967, Captain Cousteau sent a remotely operated device that dived to 106 meters. In 1989, the Spélénaute reached a depth of 315 m. In the subsoil, galleries and cavities collect a large part of the 900 mm of rain that falls on average each year.

en avril, balade paisible, sans personne, le vert de la nature est magnifique et même s'il n'y avait pas beaucoup d'eau à la source, c'est joli à voir. quelques petites cascades très belles le long du chemin. peu de commerçants ouverts le long pour y arriver, c'était tranquille. c'est encore quelque chose que l'on peut admirer sans rien payer, autant en profiter !

Un village joli mais pris d'assaut au mois d'aout. La ballade jusqu'à la source peu agréable en pleine foule. A refaire, peut-être, mais en saison plus hivernale, avec plus d'eau dans la source, pour mieux profiter du spectacle. Une galerie artisanale intéressante.
