Museum with objects and documents about the daily life of the French during the Occupation and the Resistance in Vaucluse
More than 10,000 objects and documents tell the story of French daily life under the Occupation, the Resistance in Vaucluse, with the maquis in the Ventoux, repression in Vaucluse, and the bombing of Avignon in particular. Clandestine editions and military magazines are displayed alongside manuscripts by René Char and original works by Henri Matisse and Joan Miró. The documentation center adjoining the museum focuses on the last three major wars in French history.
