MEDIEVAL FORTIFICATIONS
Discovery of three successive enclosures surrounding the village of Cucuron.
No less than three successive walls surrounded the village. Today, the Porte de l'Horloge with its Saint-Michel keep remains. The second enclosure encircled the eastern part of the village, and was crossed by the Portes de l'Etang (or de Cabrières) and de Giroux, the Citadelle tower and the so-called "Tour Carrée".
