CONSEIL DES PRUD’HOMMES
Composed of employers and elected employees, the Conseil des Prud'hommes is competent to settle individual disputes between employers and employees (or apprentices) on the occasion of the contract of employment (or apprenticeship), that it is not yet formed (hiring procedure), in the course of execution or broken (resignation, dismissal, etc.). This competence is recognized regardless of the amount of the application or the function of the employee. In its role, the Conseil des Prud'hommes may prescribe any measures necessary to prevent injury or to stop a manifestly unlawful disorder. However, it is not competent for disputes inherent in public sector employees or employees: in these cases, the persons concerned must apply to the Administrative Court.
