Here's an original way to explore the Cité des Papes: by canoe! Boats can accommodate up to four people. Departures are from the Île de la Barthelasse. With just a few strokes of the paddle, you and your family can approach Avignon's famous Pont Saint Bénézet bridge. As you paddle along, you'll be able to admire the city's historic monuments, such as the Palais des Papes, which are even more impressive when seen from below aboard a canoe.

Had such a wonderful time. Driven up river and then spent an amazing few hours paddleboarding back down to Avignon.
