It's one of Avignon's well-known little addresses on the hill overlooking the Palais des Papes, otherwise known as the Rocher des Doms, laid out as an English garden. The climb may seem arduous, but the reward is at hand when you arrive at the glass and metal pavilion bordering a pond, where you can sit down for a drink, an ice cream or lunch: salads, tartines and daily specials. The little tourist train makes it easy to get around if you need to.
