Café de la Comédie has a special history, taking its name from Avignon's first "Italian-style" theater, inaugurated in 1732. It played to packed houses for over 100 years. It was the Place de l'Horloge theater that stole the show. Today, the café stands opposite the legendary Hôtel de l'Europe, on one of Avignon's most beautiful squares. Its large terrace is shaded by one of the two gigantic trees on the Place Crillon. It's a popular spot for Avignon locals, who flock here when the first rays of sunshine arrive.

Very pleasant welcome, service without smiling and the bouquet when we ask to the toilets (except service day festival!??!!!!!) you meet us to remember?!?!?!?!

For two ordered slices of bread: 1:00 waiting. There was not much clientele. The waiters do not care with us. They whistle away happily. You can hear the manager to protest " is it eat both over? " Other guests sit next to us and are served at once. No effort of presentation of slices of bread. Part of the bistro fout of its guests. This restaurant does not deserve its place, elsewhere.
