LAKE ST. CASSIAN
This artificial lake, 5 km long, feeds a hydroelectric plant and supplies water to cultivated areas along the coast
Built in 1964 on the course of the Biançon, with a 66-meter dike holding back 60 million cubic meters of water, this 5-kilometer-long artificial lake extends over the communes of Montauroux, Tanneron and Callian. It feeds a hydroelectric plant and provides water for cultivated coastal areas. A watersports center has been set up on its banks, offering all kinds of non-motorized water sports, including fishing (very popular), pedal-boating and paddle-boating. This exceptional natural site is ideal for picnics.
